Open Shows for Lesson Students
This summer our lesson students went to a few horse shows to test out their skills that they have been mastering in lessons.
Here is a list of the shows our students attended so far:
Quentin Fun Show (June 11, 2008)
Joanne mannix made her first horse show debut riding Hot John. They placed a 5th in Hunter Pleasure and 2nd in Hunter Under Saddle. Sammy Jo Lauriell rode in her first horse show in the cantering division on Silver. They receieved many good ribbons including two thirds in Hunter Equitation and Pleasure. Brianna Cicero also made her first ever show debut riding Silver. They received a 5th in the Walk Trot Equitation in a class of almost 20 other riders. Mallory Mohn showed Hot John in several of the fence classes bringing home many 1sts and 2nds. They did awesome.
Hunt Cap Horse Show in York (June 18, 2008)
Brianna Cicero showed Silver in the walk trot division and received several high placings ribbons, which made her the reserve champion of the division. Sammy Jo Lauriell also showed Silver in t Walk Trot Canter and even did her very first cross rail class. They got some high ribbons in a more difficult division then what they had been showing in the last year.
Halcyon Farm Fun Show (June 25, 2009)
Emma Phillips made her first Walk Trot debut on our new lesson pony Tin Man. They did a great job, even bring home the blue in their last class of the day. Definitely a cure pair to watch out for.
Quentin Fun Show (July 16, 2008)
Ashley McCorkel made her first ever horse show debut riding Hot John in the Walk Trot division. They did a great job even with a late night in the show ring. She received her first ribbon to start out her collection, which will lead to many more in the future. Sharon Lauriello showed our new lesson horse, Frog, in several fence classes and under saddle classes. They both did a great job bringing home many high ribbons. Anna Weaver had her first ever horse sho debut in the leadline class on Tin Man. They got a 6th place ribbon. She did a fantastic job riding and se can't wait to see her and Silver in the Walk Trot classes soon. Emma Phillips showed our Tin Man in the walk trot class and looked stunning out under the lights in the big ring. Emma rode really well and Tin couldn't have looked better. Mallory Mohn and Hot John were back at the fence classes with some good places over fences and under saddle.
